Monarch Education is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a thriving secondary school in Northampton. Are you passionate about supporting young people’s education and looking for a rewarding role within a busy school environment? We are looking for a motivated individual to cover lessons across various subjects, ensuring learning continues smoothly in the absence of teachers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisation skills, resilience, and a positive attitude. The ideal candidate will be flexible, proactive, and capable of managing classrooms effectively, maintaining high standards of behaviour, and supporting students’ learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage classes during pre-planned or emergency cover lessons across a range of subjects
- Ensure students stay on task and follow behaviour expectations
- Maintain a positive and safe learning environment
- Support students’ engagement and behaviour management
- Follow lesson plans provided by teachers where applicable
- Promote a respectful, inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Report any issues or concerns to the appropriate staff
Candidate Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Confident classroom management abilities
- Resilience, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Enthusiasm for supporting student learning and behaviour
This role offers flexible hours and can be part-time or full-time, depending on your availability. Prior experience in a school setting is advantageous but not required.
