We are seeking a Bank - Residential Support Worker for a part-time, on-site role in Stoke-On-Trent. The Residential Support Worker will be responsible for providing care and supervision for young residents, supporting their emotional well-being, facilitating daily activities, and fostering their independence.
Key day-to-day tasks include:
- Assisting with personal development
- Promoting positive behaviour
- Maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
- Liaising with team members to develop personalised care plans for each young person
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build meaningful and professional relationships with young people and team members
- Experience in creating and maintaining a safe, supportive, and structured residential environment
- Understanding of safeguarding and policies relating to child protection, as well as the ability to follow procedures effectively
- Ability to handle challenging situations and adapt to the unique needs of young individuals in care
- Knowledge of or experience working with young people who have experienced trauma or adversity, particularly in a residential setting
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting the emotional and personal development of young people
- Relevant childcare qualifications, such as Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work toward this qualification)
- A flexible approach to working hours, including availability for shifts, weekends, and holidays, as needed
