Monarch Healthcare are recruiting for a Domestic Assistant to join our team at Poplars Nursing and Residential Home. At Poplars, we offer care and nursing support to older adults and individuals living with dementia. If you are passionate about making a difference in people’s lives, we would love to hear from you.
Position Details
- Rate of pay: in line with national minimum wage
- Hours: 30 hours and 24 hours per week (2 opportunities available)
- Schedule: rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays
- Shift Times: 6‑hour shifts between 08:00–14:00 (early) and 14:00–19:00 (late)
- Location: Burton-on-Trent, DE13
- Travel: please include a cover note with your application. Mention typical method of transport (e.g., car, public transport, walking).
- We are currently unable to offer visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- As a Domestic Assistant, you will work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene, whilst ensuring a safe, comfortable environment.
- Adhere to the home’s cleaning schedules
- Provide deep cleaning and preparation of bedrooms as required
- Manage cleaning supplies and notify the Home Manager or appropriate person when new supplies are required
- Ensure the appropriate agent is used for each area to be cleaned
- Adhere to health and safety, and infection control policies and ensure cleaning is in line with recommendations; adhere to the Care Centre’s disposal of waste and COSHH policies
