We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to support pupils within a Primary School in Worksop. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to ensuring children with additional needs receive the highest standard of care, dignity, and support throughout the school day.
Main Duties:
- Provide bespoke personal care support to an individual pupil, including hygiene, toileting, changing, and mobility assistance where required.
- Support the pupil in accessing learning by working closely with teaching staff and following their personalised support plan.
- Promote independence, confidence, and emotional well-being wherever possible.
- Ensure the pupil's safety, comfort, and dignity at all times.
- Assist with medical or physical needs in line with training and school policies (e.g., feeding, equipment use, supervision).
- Maintain accurate, confidential records as required.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with staff, parents/carers, and relevant professionals.
- Report concerns to the appropriate person while maintaining confidentiality.
- Contribute positively to the school community and work effectively as part of a team.
- Uphold all safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour policies and procedures.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Experience supporting children or young people, preferably in a school or care environment.
- Genuine commitment to supporting pupils with additional or complex needs.
- A calm, friendly, and flexible approach.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Physically and mentally able to carry out personal care duties.
Desirable:
- A relevant qualification in care, education, or support (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Health & Social Care).
- Experience with manual handling, personal care, or supporting children with SEND.
