Monarch Education is working with a special needs school in Taunton, to recruit full-time Teaching Assistants to support pupils aged 5-19. The role focuses on supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD and SEMH, SEN Needs within both mainstream and SEND Schools in the area. The successful candidate must have relevant SEN experience and be confident supporting pupils with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ASD, ADHD and SEMH
- Support learning activities in line with individual education plans
- Assist with communication, including non-verbal methods where required
- Support pupils with sensory needs and engagement in lessons
- Assist with personal care where needed
- Implement behaviour and support strategies as directed by staff
- Work alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Maintain a safe, structured, and consistent environment
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
- Experience working with ASD and/or PMLD is essential
- Experience must be within a UK school or similar education setting
- Understanding of communication and behaviour support approaches
- Ability to support pupils with complex and additional needs
- Available to work full time (Monday to Friday)
