About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and inspiring Careers and Pathways Leader to join our school in Taunton, part of a forward-thinking Multi Academy Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual passionate about supporting young people to make informed decisions about their futures and to raise aspirations across the school community.
Working on a part-time, permanent basis, you will lead on the strategic development and delivery of the school's careers programme, ensuring it meets the Gatsby Benchmarks and supports all students in achieving their ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate a high-quality careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) programme
- Provide impartial careers advice and guidance to students across key stages
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, colleges, training providers and other external partners
- Organise careers events, including fairs, workshops, and employer encounters
- Support students with progression pathways, including post-16 and post-18 options
- Work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff and pastoral teams to embed careers education across the curriculum
- Track and monitor student destinations and progression outcomes
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and best practice frameworks
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in careers education, guidance, or a related field
- Has a strong understanding of post-16 and post-18 pathways (including apprenticeships, further education, and higher education)
- Is highly organised, proactive, and able to manage their own workload effectively
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is committed to promoting equality of opportunity and raising aspirations for all students
- Ideally holds, or is willing to work towards, a relevant careers qualification (e.g. Level 6 in Careers Guidance)
