About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sports Coach to join the team at an SEMH school in Swindon. As a Sports Coach, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality sports coaching to students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality sports coaching sessions to students with SEMH needs, ensuring that each session is tailored to meet individual needs and abilities.
- Monitor and evaluate progress, providing feedback and support to students to help them achieve their goals
- Work collaboratively with other members of staff to ensure that all students receive a well-rounded education that meets their academic, social, and emotional needs
- Develop positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and other stakeholders, communicating regularly and effectively to build trust and understanding
- Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies, procedures, and initiatives related to sports and physical education
Requirements
- A relevant degree or qualification in sports coaching, physical education, or a related field
- At least 6 months of experience in a sports coaching role, ideally with experience of working with students with SEMH needs
- Excellent knowledge of sports coaching techniques and methods, with the ability to adapt these to meet individual needs and abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and other stakeholders
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to get one through us
