Monarch Education is currently recruiting for a caring and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Frome. This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September 2026, ideal for someone with experience in delivering personalised support within a classroom setting.

About the Role

  • You will work closely with a pupil on a one-to-one basis, helping them to access learning, manage daily routines, and build confidence in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning or behavioural needs.
  • Support the pupil during classroom activities and transitions.
  • Implement strategies to encourage engagement and emotional regulation.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and parents.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant SEND qualifications or training (desirable).
  • A valid DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
