We are seeking an energetic and committed Qualified PE Teacher (QTS) to join a well-regarded secondary school in Oxford from September 2026. This is a long-term opportunity, ideal for a teacher who is passionate about physical education, health, and wellbeing, and who can inspire students to lead active lifestyles. You will play a key role in delivering a broad and engaging PE curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable), encouraging participation, teamwork, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across a range of sports and activities
- Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Plan, prepare, and assess student progress effectively
- Promote physical fitness, teamwork, and positive wellbeing
- Support extracurricular activities, fixtures, and school sports events
- Foster a positive and disciplined learning environment
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
- A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related subject
- Proven experience teaching PE at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge across a variety of sports
- Excellent behaviour management and organisational skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience with GCSE PE (and BTEC Sport where applicable)
- Ability to lead or support extra-curricular sports programmes
- Specialism in one or more sports disciplines
- First Aid qualification
- Experience teaching KS5 PE or Sport
