Monarch Education are working with a specialist SEND school in Nuneaton who are looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school supports children from Early Years through to Year 6, all of whom have an EHCP. Staff focus on delivering a broad, balanced and personalised curriculum that meets the individual needs of every pupil in a supportive and nurturing environment.
About the pupils:
- Students at the school have a range of additional needs, including:
- Moderate to profound learning difficulties
- Autism (ASC)
- Epilepsy
- Physical disabilities
- Sensory impairments
- Medical needs
- Communication difficulties
The Role:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Helping deliver individual learning plans and EHCP targets
- Supporting pupils with communication and engagement
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development
- Assisting with daily routines and sensory needs
- Supporting personal care where required
- Working closely with teachers and other support staff
Essential:
- Experience working with SEND or complex needs
- A calm, patient and reliable approach
- Good communication skills
- Able to support younger pupils (EYFS - KS2)
- Comfortable supporting personal care if needed
- Available full-time on a long-term basis
