Monarch Education are currently recruiting for a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support pupils within special educational needs (SEN) schools. This role is ideal for someone experienced in working with children with additional needs, including Autism (ASC), SEMH, and complex learning difficulties. You will play a key role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
- Support the delivery of tailored and differentiated learning
- Assist the class teacher in managing behaviour and engagement
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies
- Support pupils with communication, social and emotional development
- Promote independence and confidence in learners
- Create a safe, nurturing and structured environment
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience working within SEN or specialist school settings
- Strong understanding of additional needs such as ASC, SEMH or MLD
- Good behaviour management skills
- Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable
- Team Teach or similar behaviour management training
- Experience with communication tools such as PECS or Makaton
- Background in care, support work or alternative provision
