Monarch Education are working with secondary schools across Midsomer Norton who are looking for reliable Cover Supervisors to support pupils and maintain continuity of learning from the start of the new academic year.
The role:
- Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.
- Deliver pre-prepared work, keep pupils focused on their learning and maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Support pupils with instructions and activities where appropriate.
- Create a calm, inclusive and purposeful learning environment.
- Report back to teaching staff on pupil engagement and any issues.
- Support pupils of varying abilities and learning needs.
- Assist with general school duties where required.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and school expectations at all times.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Confident supervising groups of secondary-aged pupils.
- Able to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
- Organised, reliable and adaptable.
- Positive, enthusiastic and resilient.
- A clear and confident communicator.
- Comfortable following lesson plans and school procedures.
- Passionate about supporting young people's learning, confidence and development.
Requirements:
- Experience working with young people in a school, coaching, tutoring, youth work or similar setting is desirable.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to complete registration, compliance and safeguarding checks.
