Role Overview
- Plan and deliver English lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach across KS3 and KS4
- Prepare students for GCSE assessments and examinations
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Differentiating lessons to support a range of abilities, including SEN
- Monitor, assess, and track student progress and attainment data
- Contribute to the wider school environment, including intervention and enrichment where required
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver English Language and Literature lessons
- Support students' development in reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Implement behaviour for learning strategies
- Use assessment data to inform planning and targeted interventions
- Work with department staff on curriculum delivery and planning
- Maintain accurate records of progress, attainment, and reporting
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school
- Ability to teach across KS3 and KS4
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Good understanding of GCSE English specifications and exam preparation
