Monarch Education is working with a secondary school in Tipton to recruit a full-time Food Technology Teacher to deliver lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 on a long-term basis starting in September.

Role Overview

  • Plan and deliver Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4.
  • Prepare students for GCSE coursework and practical assessments.
  • Maintain classroom and kitchen safety in line with school policies.
  • Differentiating lessons to support a range of abilities, including SEN.
  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress and attainment.
  • Contribute to wider school activities, including intervention sessions where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver practical and theory-based Food Technology lessons.
  • Support students in developing cooking skills, nutrition knowledge, and food safety awareness.
  • Ensure safe use of equipment and maintain hygiene standards in practical lessons.
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning and targeted support.
  • Work with colleagues on curriculum planning and resource development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and coursework.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology in a UK secondary school.
  • Ability to teach across KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Knowledge of GCSE Food Technology specifications and assessment requirements.
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply.
