Monarch Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Desford (LE9) area of Leicestershire to recruit an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant for a summer term start. The Role

You will be working closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing tailored 1:1 and small group support. The role requires patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted support for pupils with a range of SEND needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs)
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning plans
  • Support emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
  • Encourage independence and confidence in learning
  • Monitor and record pupil progress

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant in a primary setting
  • A strong understanding of different SEND needs and support strategies
  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
