Monarch Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Desford (LE9) area of Leicestershire to recruit an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant for a summer term start. This well-regarded village school prides itself on fostering a nurturing, community-focused environment where every child is supported to achieve their full potential. The Role
You will be working closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing tailored 1:1 and small group support. The role requires patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted support for pupils with a range of SEND needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs)
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning plans
- Support emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
- Encourage independence and confidence in learning
- Monitor and record pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant in a primary setting
- A strong understanding of different SEND needs and support strategies
- A calm, patient and empathetic approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
