Hours: 32.5 hours per week (8:30am - 3:30pm)

The school provides education for pupils aged 4-16 with a range of additional needs, including:

We are now seeking dedicated, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team. This is an ideal role for someone passionate about helping children overcome barriers and achieve small but meaningful progress every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with additional learning, communication and sensory needs
  • Follow personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support in and out of the classroom
  • Use visual timetables, communication tools and structured routines
  • Assist with personal care where required (training provided)
  • Support positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and therapists
  • Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage independence, confidence and social interaction

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN or in a care/education setting (essential)
  • Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • A calm, nurturing and resilient approach
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work proactively
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of SEN strategies, sensory needs or communication approaches such as PECs or Makaton (desirable)
