About the Role
As an RE Teacher, you will deliver well-structured, pre-planned lessons while also having the opportunity to contribute your own creative ideas and teaching approaches. You will support students in developing their understanding of religious beliefs, moral issues, cultural diversity, and philosophical thinking. There may also be opportunities to support form groups or contribute to whole-school initiatives depending on your strengths and interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach engaging, inclusive, and informative RE lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Encourage thoughtful discussion, critical thinking, and respectful understanding of different beliefs and perspectives
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Deliver theory-based content confidently and clearly
- Maintain strong behaviour management and foster a positive classroom environment
- Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school policies
- Build constructive, professional relationships with students and staff
- Contribute to the wider school community where required
What We're Looking For
- Experience teaching RE or working within a humanities department
- Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver lessons with confidence
- A reflective and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning
- Ability to build rapport, motivate learners, and manage behaviour effectively
- Reliable, professional, and committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing
- RE or Humanities degree, QTS, or relevant teaching experience desirable
- Suitable for both experienced RE teachers and Early Career Teachers
