We're looking for an energetic and flexible PE Supply Teacher for September, supporting secondary schools in and around Bridgwater. It's a great fit for a qualified teacher (or an experienced cover supervisor) who can confidently run PE lessons across KS3-KS4, combining clear routines with positive motivation. You'll cover a range of settings and facilities, keeping learning purposeful, safe, and enjoyable.
The Role
- Plan and deliver high-energy PE sessions, including practical activities and any required classroom-based theory
- Maintain strong health & safety practice, setting up/clearing equipment and supervising pupils appropriately
- Set expectations quickly in unfamiliar schools and keep lessons running smoothly
- Promote participation, teamwork, and positive behaviour in line with school policies
- Use available lesson plans and adapt activities to suit space, resources, and ability ranges
Requirements
- QTS/QTLS (or proven UK secondary experience delivering PE)
- Good all-round PE subject knowledge and a focus on pupil wellbeing and inclusion
- Strong behaviour management, with confidence leading groups in practical environments
- Organised approach to activities, equipment, and transitions between tasks
- Reliable, adaptable, and professional in a supply capacity
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
