We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary setting in Bicester. This is a long‑term opportunity starting in September, ideal for someone passionate about supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and helping them thrive during their first steps in education. You will work closely with the class teacher to create a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating learning environment where every child can develop socially, emotionally, and academically.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering high‑quality EYFS provision
- Assist with planning and implementing creative, play‑based learning activities
- Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups
- Encourage positive behaviour and support children's emotional development
- Help track and monitor pupil progress in line with EYFS framework
- Support classroom organisation and maintenance of a safe, inclusive setting
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience working within EYFS or a primary school setting
- A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare / Early Years / Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent)
- A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to build strong relationships with children, staff, and parents
- A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience supporting children with additional needs (SEND)
- Phonics knowledge (e.g. Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds)
- Paediatric First Aid qualification
