Monarch Education in partnership with a school in Wheatley is seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced SEND Teacher
Position: SEND Teacher
Location: Wheatley
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: September 2025
Overview
We are recruiting for a dedicated and professional SEND Teacher to join a welcoming school in Wheatley. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, inclusive education tailored to the needs of children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This role requires a strong understanding of SEND legislation, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement bespoke lesson plans that meet the individual needs of students with SEND, ensuring progress across key areas of learning.
- Develop, review, and implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in collaboration with parents, carers, and external professionals.
- Assess, monitor, and evaluate student progress, making necessary adjustments to teaching approaches and strategies.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and emotional development.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and external agencies to deliver cohesive and effective support for students.
- Contribute to team meetings, reviews, and ongoing professional development initiatives related to SEND.
- Support students\β social and emotional well-being, promoting independence and positive behaviour.
Person Specification
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Proven experience teaching children with SEND, with a solid understanding of relevant legislation and best practices.
- Ability to differentiate effectively and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse needs.
- Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to inclusive education.
