Job Description

Key Stage 1 Class Teacher – Primary

Area: Weston Super-Mare

Salary: £163- 223 p/day (Agency working regulations to apply post 12 weeks)

Start date: September 2025

Hours of work: Full Time/ Ongoing role

Monarch Education are looking for a Qualified Teacher to work in a 3 form entry Primary School. The role begins in September 2025, the school will consider both ECT & final year students. The role is teaching in Key Stage 1 and experience within this age group would be advantageous although not essential. The school encourages interactive learning, and each classroom is equipped with interactive televisions, displays and a teaching assistant in each classroom to support. There is a strong value of each child\’s abilities and wellbeing, with facilities such as a pastoral room available to help develop their skills and achieve their aspirations. The school can be easily accessed by car or bus.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • QTS or QTLS
  • Have the ability and knowledge to teach primary school pupils
  • Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children from all needs and backgrounds
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills
  • Understand the expectations against the Teachers Standards

Main Responsibilities

  • Teaching a variety of subjects to primary pupils
  • Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning
  • Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting
  • Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy
  • Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
  • Possible supervising on lunch and break times
  • Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
  • Building relationships with staff and pupils
  • Collecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessments
  • Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils progress
  • To have pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils
  • Potentially lead in a subject area
  • Ensure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carers
