Monarch Education is working with a tutoring provider to recruit an experienced Tutor to teach English to students in small groups (Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Adults). Group sizes will range from 3 to 8 pupils per session.

This position offers a unique opportunity for someone looking to challenge themselves by contributing to the planning and delivery of a bespoke curriculum tailored to children requiring extra English tuition after school and on weekends. There are opportunities to expand your pupil base and increase earnings beyond an initial trial period of 3 months.

Pay: £30 - £40 per hour

Start: September 2025

Contract Length: Minimum 6 months

Working Week: Hours typically after school and/or on weekends, around 3-6 hours per week (to be finalised)

Location: Portishead, Somerset

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in teaching or tutoring children of all ages in English
  • QTS / TESOL / CELTA qualification
  • Ability to plan bespoke curricula for mixed abilities
  • Previous tutoring experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other authorities
  • Independent working skills
  • A loving and caring attitude towards learning
