The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Associate Building Surveyor / Team Leader to join our London office, delivering and managing projects across the commercial, residential, education and retail sectors throughout the UK. As part of our Built Asset Consultancy team, you will take a lead role in managing client relationships, delivering projects, and driving business growth, while overseeing and developing a team of surveyors. This is a senior leadership position offering a clear pathway for progression, with responsibility for both project delivery and team performance.
The Role
As an Associate Building Surveyor / Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the delivery of both professional and project-led Building Surveying services
- Managing and developing existing client relationships, while supporting new business opportunities
- Taking responsibility for the financial performance and delivery of projects and instructions
- Overseeing and mentoring a team of surveyors, supporting their development and performance
- Acting as Contract Administrator across refurbishment and fit-out projects
- Managing dilapidations instructions and wider professional services
- Advising clients on procurement strategies and project delivery
- Supporting and contributing to business development and service growth
- Ensuring delivery of work outputs in line with commercial objectives and client expectations
About You
In order to be successful in this role you must have:
- Degree in Building Surveying (or equivalent experience)
- MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent professional qualification
- Proven experience in both professional and project-led Building Surveying services
- Demonstrable experience in team leadership and management
- Strong track record in client relationship management and business development
- Commercial awareness and ability to manage project financials
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
It would be great if you had:
- Experience within commercial, retail, education or residential sectors
- Experience in design risk management and/or CDM / Principal Designer duties
- Awareness of the Building Safety Act and associated dutyholder roles
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex instructions
