Responsibilities

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage all catering requests through the catering ordering system, reviewing service needs, delivery locations, event dates, and timelines.
  • Schedule, organize, and prepare catering orders to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Assemble and stage nonperishable supplies, service ware, and catering materials in advance of scheduled events.
  • Deliver food, beverages, and catering supplies to designated hospital locations in a timely and professional manner.
  • Set up catering displays with attention to presentation, organization, and customer expectations.
  • Ensure all necessary condiments, utensils, serving pieces, and supplies are available for each event.
  • Monitor catering services and provide prompt, courteous assistance to customers throughout events as needed.
  • Coordinate the use of specialty linens, china, rental equipment, and other event-related supplies.
  • Perform post-event cleanup and retrieve catering equipment at the scheduled pickup time.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers regarding event details, service needs, and future catering arrangements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for catering inquiries, order requests, and event planning support.
  • Maintain accurate records of catering services and complete billing and invoice documentation.
  • Ensure all catering areas, workspaces, storage locations, and equipment remain clean, organized, and properly maintained.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and promote exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and monitoring product availability.
  • Support food preparation activities and ensure proper food handling and storage practices.
  • Transport and distribute food, supplies, equipment, and materials throughout the hospital as needed.
  • Assist with dishwashing and sanitation duties, including cleaning dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots, and pans.
  • Respond professionally to customer questions, concerns, and service-related issues.
  • Participate in required training programs, including food safety, allergen awareness, customer service, and workplace safety.
  • Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and HACCP standards.
  • Comply with all hospital safety, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Report accidents, injuries, safety hazards, or incidents promptly and according to policy.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with Food & Nutrition Services team members and other hospital departments.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • ServSafe Manager certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to work a flexible, varied schedule to accommodate morning, evening or weekend events.
  • Physical requirements: Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
    • Significant walking or other means of mobility.
    • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
    • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds
