Perpl is a high-performance, orderbook-based perpetuals DEX launching on Monad. We’re backed by top crypto-native investors and building the next evolution of on-chain trading—one that combines CEX-level performance with DeFi composability and transparency. Our mission is to bring the speed, efficiency, and capital depth of traditional finance on-chain, without compromise. Built on Monad, the first high-throughput EVM chain with parallel execution, Perpl enables traders and LPs to operate in a fully permissionless, transparent environment with zero slippage and deep liquidity.
Perpl is seeking a founding Senior Smart Contract Engineer (EVM) to help architect, implement, and secure our core smart contracts. As one of the earliest engineering hires, you’ll play a critical role in building the infrastructure powering on-chain derivatives at scale.
In this role, you will:
- Design and implement mission-critical smart contracts for the Perpl CLOB and vault system
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and quant teams to ensure robustness and capital efficiency
- Define testing, simulation, and on-chain monitoring standards for security and reliability
- Serve as Perpl’s in-house expert on the EVM, Monad’s unique performance characteristics, and gas optimization
- Own the full lifecycle of smart contract development from design → audit → deployment → upgrade
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience building and maintaining EVM smart contracts in production
- Strong knowledge of Solidity, low-level EVM mechanics, and gas optimization strategies
- Proven ability to work with external auditors and internal security reviews
- Experience designing DeFi protocols or financial primitives (DEXs, AMMs, margin trading, oracles, etc.)
- High agency and ownership mindset—comfortable in a fast-moving, zero-to-one environment
- Passion for decentralized finance and a deep understanding of the DeFi landscape
Preferred
- Familiarity with parallelized EVM architectures
- Experience with Rust or other statically typed languages
- Background in quant trading, HFT, or crypto derivatives
- Understanding of chain infra, monitoring, and validator/client dynamics
Location
In-person first with optional work from home flexibility. Team is currently headquartered in London with a few members distributed globally.
