We are on a mission to produce the UK's best‑tasting and highest quality kombucha. To achieve that we brew the traditional way and leave our kombucha unfiltered for a fuller depth of flavour. Plus, we’re certified organic: better for you and better for the environment. With every bottle of MOMO, we hope to inspire people to live healthier and more connected lives. We’re a proud B Corp and featured on The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list in 2024 and 2025.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated, detail‑oriented, and proactive Financial Accountant to join our growing team at our independent brewery in Herne Hill, London. This is an exciting opportunity to become the second in‑house finance hire at a fast‑growing business and play a key role in shaping the future of our finance function. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to deliver accurate reporting, drive financial insights, maintain strong financial controls, and support strategic decision‑making across the business.
What you’ll do
- Financial reporting & insights
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including budget vs actual analysis.
- Produce weekly sales flash reports and provide detailed supporting analysis.
- Manage and report on weekly and monthly KPIs through the Company Scorecard.
- Present financial results, trends, and insights to the leadership team and wider business.
- Core accounting work
- Act as the main point of contact for MOMO’s outsourced bookkeeping team, ensuring they have the information and support needed to perform their duties effectively.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements and VAT returns.
- Maintain and improve financial controls, processes, and governance procedures.
- Lead accounts payable and accounts receivable management.
- Oversee stock reconciliations and support inventory reporting accuracy.
- Financial Planning and Analysis
- Supporting the Head of Finance with monthly sales forecasting by customer and sales channel.
- Annual budgeting and mid‑year reforecasting.
- Gross margin analysis across customers, products, and channels.
- Cash flow forecasting and liquidity management.
As a rapidly growing business, everyone at MOMO is able to get stuck into other areas of the business outside their core focus. This could be supporting marketing events, doing sample tastings at customer sites, helping production when needed and generally contributing ideas across the business.
And we’re looking for someone who has:
- ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualification (or part qualified).
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role with hands‑on responsibility.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- A proactive, positive, "do‑it‑now" attitude.
- Experience with Xero and/or Breww is preferred but not essential.
- Interest in the food & drink and health & wellness industries.
- Enthusiasm for the MOMO brand and values.
What you’ll get
- Competitive salary based on your experience
- Quarterly bonus scheme
- £250 annual wellness budget
- 1 volunteer day per year (paid)
- 26 days’ holiday (pro‑rata), plus an additional day every two years up to 30 days
- Work with a B Corp that donates 1% of revenue to charity and is committed to improving its impact every year
