Overview
As Director of Media Excellence, you will lead the UK Media Operations’ transformation, turning standards into practical workflows, playbooks and governance. You’ll manage the Operational Excellence function and shape adoption across planning, activation, analytics and finance to improve delivery and reduce risk. You’ll partner with Finance, Commercial, Analytics and agency teams to enhance financial hygiene and minimise Mediaocean-related exposure. This role offers impact at scale, driving smarter operations, automation and consistent service delivery across agencies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and improvement of practical Media Operating Standards across priority workflows.
- Translate complex processes into clear playbooks, maps, decision frameworks and training.
- Own the documentation repository and ensure version control, accuracy and accessibility.
- Track adoption and convert feedback into actionable improvements.
- Collaborate with Finance, Billing and agency/client teams to improve financial hygiene and reduce debt.
- Investigate recurring financial and billing issues and identify root causes.
- Support governance embedding, CLM/Operational Foundations and Omni-aligned processes.
- Line-manage the Media Operational Excellence Manager and develop capability across the team.
- Build relationships with agency COOs, Finance, Activation, Analytics and platform owners.
- Ensure alignment with Omni, Mediaocean and other platforms to streamline workflows.
Key requirements
- Strong media operations or business operations experience in a complex agency/media environment.
- Proven ability to turn complex processes into clear standards, playbooks and training.
- Strong understanding of financial hygiene in media, including Mediaocean balances and billing risk.
- Experience in either biddable channels or planning with practical finance hygiene knowledge.
- Comfortable in fast-paced, change-heavy environments with delivery discipline.
- Strong data analysis skills and ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Experience using automation or basic AI to reduce repetitive work.
