Director of Security / Head of Security – Live Event Venue

Are you an experienced security professional looking to shape security at one of London's leading live entertainment and event destinations?

This is a tremendous opportunity to lead the security function at a major London venue and event location.

You will have responsibility for several key areas including operational event security planning, developing security policy/plans and conducting risk/threat assessments.

You will champion collaborative working with security service providers and positively influence and engage internal and external stakeholders.

You will offer strategic security advise and ensure robust security measures are in place to support the smooth delivery of high-profile events.

Working closely with operational teams, event partners, police and emergency services, you will act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders and help ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment for visitors, artists, clients, contractors and employees.

Applicants must have strong experience in venue, live event, entertainment, stadium, arena or festival security leadership.

  • Significant experience in venue, live event, entertainment, stadium, arena or festival security leadership.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a proven track record of collaborative working with multiple partners, service providers or agencies
  • Strong strategic and tactical planning skills
  • Strong administration skills with the ability to plan and lead complex projects

Responsibilities will include

  • Lead the security function across venues, events and public-facing spaces.
  • Develop and implement security strategies, policies, procedures and operating standards.
  • Conduct security, threat and risk assessments and maintain appropriate mitigation plans.
  • Operational and strategic management of the security function
  • Lead the security planning and preparation for high-profile events
  • Work closely with event security partners and service providers
  • Resource scheduling for events in collaboration with service partners
  • Assess and mitigate security threats
  • Lead security briefings, training and awareness initiatives.
  • Management of 3rd party service providers including regular performance review and KPI meetings
  • Maintain security-related records, reporting mechanisms and risk registers.
  • Provide security advice and guidance to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Liaison with Police and emergency services
  • Incident management and response
  • Cross functional working with the Property and Facilities teams.
  • Manage departmental budgets and support strategic business planning.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement across security operations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, licensing requirements and industry best practice.
