The MIS Manager will take ownership of the organisation's Management Information systems and reporting frameworks across multiple contracts. This role requires the translation of complex datasets into actionable insights that drive operational performance, compliance, and strategic decision-making. You will work closely with Contract Managers, Quality Managers, and the Data Team to ensure timely, accurate, and insightful reporting across all programmes. This is a senior, challenging role that demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to challenge existing processes to improve efficiency and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • MIS & Reporting
    • Develop, maintain, and enhance Management Information systems across all contracts, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness.
    • Lead the production of internal and external reports, including KPIs, performance dashboards, and compliance submissions for Skills Bootcamp, ASF, FCFJ, and other programmes.
    • Design automated reporting solutions and data visualisations to support operational teams and senior leadership.
    • Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Run on monthly and weekly deadlines, to submit the ILR, Data Sheets and Outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Work closely with Contract Managers to understand programme requirements and ensure MI aligns with contractual obligations.
    • Partner with Quality Managers to provide insight into learner outcomes, engagement metrics, and compliance trends.
    • Act as the MIS liaison for the Data Team, ensuring accurate data capture, validation, and flow across systems.
  • Data Governance & Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to GDPR, data protection, and contractual reporting requirements.
    • Implement rigorous data quality control processes, including validation, reconciliation, and auditing.
    • Provide training and guidance to staff on MIS processes and data accuracy.
  • Strategic Insight & Decision Support
    • Translate complex datasets into actionable insights for senior management.
    • Proactively identify areas for operational improvement, risk mitigation, and strategic growth.
    • Support funding and audit submissions with accurate and fully validated MI.
  • Leadership & Development
    • Lead and develop the Data Team in achieving MI objectives.
    • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and high standards across the organisation.

Person Specification

  • Experience & Knowledge
    • Extensive experience managing MIS in a multi-contract education, skills, or training environment.
    • Strong understanding of Skills Bootcamp, ASF, FCFJ, or similar UK Government-funded programmes is highly desirable.
    • Proficient in data analytics tools, database management, and reporting software.
    • Knowledge of compliance, audit requirements, and funding rules across multiple contracts.

This role is primarily based at our Derby branch. However, we are open to the role being based in Sheffield, with hybrid working arrangements considered where operationally appropriate.
