As our delivery continues to grow, we are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Plant Operations Tutor to join our Derby team.

The Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Plant Operations Tutor to deliver engaging practical and classroom-based training to learners working towards recognised plant operation qualifications.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong industry experience who is passionate about developing the next generation of skilled plant operators and supporting learners into employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver practical and theoretical plant operations training to groups of learners.
  • Prepare learners for CPCS and/or NPORS accredited plant operation qualifications.
  • Assess learner knowledge, practical competence and overall progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback and ongoing learner support.
  • Maintain accurate learner records, attendance and assessment documentation.
  • Ensure all delivery meets awarding body, funding and compliance requirements.
  • Promote and maintain a safe learning environment, ensuring Health & Safety standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Provide pastoral support and encouragement to learners throughout their training journey.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support learner progression into employment.

Requirements

  • Proven industry experience operating plant machinery (e. g. excavators, dumpers, rollers and similar equipment).
  • Current CPCS and/or NPORS plant operator qualifications.
  • Teaching qualification (AET, PTLLS or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one.
  • Assessor qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for developing learners and helping people progress into employment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
