Our client is a European-owned global manufacturer specialising in the design and manufacture of niche, high-performance products supplied to the aerospace, automotive, and industrial sectors.
As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead manufacturing operations, develop people, and drive a culture of operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
The role reports directly to the General Manager, the Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for the leadership and performance of the manufacturing operation, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality products that consistently meet customer expectations.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong operational background, excellent people management skills, and a proven ability to deliver sustainable improvements through Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day manufacturing operation to achieve production, quality, safety, and delivery objectives.
- Ensure production schedules are achieved through effective planning, resource allocation, and performance management.
- Drive operational efficiency whilst maintaining the highest standards of product quality.
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to optimise manufacturing performance.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Company policies.
- Champion a culture of Continuous Improvement throughout the manufacturing operation.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), productivity, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the production team
- Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with customer specifications and quality standards
- Manage departmental budgets and manufacturing costs.
Profile of candidate:
- Candidates will only be considered if they have experience of managing a team of 30+ employees
- Proven experience as a Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, or Production Manager within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience improving productivity, quality, delivery performance, and operational efficiency.
- Strong leadership and people development skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and build high-performing teams.
- Lean Manufacturing qualification (Lean Practitioner, Six Sigma Green Belt or higher) is desirable.
- Highly organised with excellent planning skills.
