This is a highly visible operations leadership role with real ownership of performance and people. You’ll lead safe, efficient manufacturing and maintenance operations, ensuring customer commitments are met while driving strong financial and operational results. In this role, you won’t just execute policies, you’ll shape how the site operates, continuously improving performance, productivity, and profitability in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Leading a small team of direct reports, you’ll set clear expectations, develop high performing leaders, and build capability across the workforce through proactive hiring, coaching, and development. You’ll partner closely with HR to foster an inclusive, high engagement culture where people are supported, standards are clear, and performance is recognized, while ensuring full compliance with legal and internal requirements.

Responsibilities Include:

  • EHS and Compliance
    • Ensures Operation at Lostock Site in Compliance with Local Law and Momentive Internal Regulations
    • Establish / Execute / Maintain / GAP Analysis for an open, trusted and accepted EHS Culture at the Site
    • Ensure operation within boundaries of existing permits
    • Build a sustainable and trusted Relationship to Permitting Authorities
    • Ensure proper Documentation for Site (e.g. Permits on file, MOC Process)
  • Operations
    • Full Responsibility for Operations at the Site
    • Execute on Production Orders on Time in Full / In Spec (“Right First Time”)
    • Partner up with SIOP Team to optimize production output
    • Final approver for NPI (New Product Introduction) and NPT (New Product Transfer)
  • Cost Controlling
    • Full Responsibility of Cost of Operations for the site (i.e. all Operating Cost Center at Lostock Site, including Conversion and Base Costs)
    • Responsible for Operation related Cost analysis and forecasting together with Manufacturing Finance at Lostock Site
    • Identifying / Executing / Maintaining / GAP Analysis of capital investment projects within agreed budget, including total financial year forecast
  • Quality Improvement
    • Improvement of Quality for Produced Materials at Site
    • Establish / execute / Maintain / GAP Analysis of Continuous Improvement Process
    • Partner up with BUs on Business needs
    • Establish / Execute / Maintain / GAP Analysis on existing and future Quality Standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14000, etc)
  • HR Tasks
    • In collaboration with the Regional People Operations Leader, take full responsibility for HR related matters in Operations, EHS, QC, Maintenance
    • Build/maintain a sustainable talent development and succession planning for the Lostock Operations

Accountabilities

  • Ensure EHS Compliance with local law for Permits
  • Ensure compliance with Company standards for EHS, cost control, waste reduction, quality, and complete and on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost
  • Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and improved working relationships
  • Identifies, communicates and drives implementation of capital investments and improvement projects and operational best practices.
  • Ensures standards for product quality, equipment, and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production. Ensures fixed assets are preserved. Initiates recommendations on purchases of new equipment and improvements to plant property.

Qualifications:

  • The following are required for the role
    • Technical degree or equivalent experience
    • 5+ years relevant experience leading an operation or operations area
    • 5+ years people leadership experience
    • 8+ years of manufacturing experience
    • Prior manufacturing experience in a process industry but also affinity understanding the bigger picture (business)
    • Quality and customer orientation
    • Working knowledge of general and cost accounting principles or the equivalence in combined education and experience
    • Excellent communicative and people skills
    • Highly Numerate and process driven
    • Able to network with Business and Technical peers
  • The following are preferred for the role
    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and CI
    • Experience in a global organization
    • MBA Education
    • Academic Background in Engineering or Chemistry
    • Experience in the Chemical Industry Space
