In this high impact role, you will own the strategy and execution of all maintenance activities across the site, driving reliability, safety and performance in a complex manufacturing environment. You’ll lead predictive and preventive maintenance programs, corrective work, capital and modification projects, and facilities maintenance across mechanical, electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Manage and drive an EHS culture by leading the maintenance team and emphasizing corporate EHS policy.
- Lead maintenance team members to achieve optimized maintenance planning and enable high performance operations consistent with plant management strategy.
- Identify and drive need‑based development plans for the maintenance team.
- Drive plant predictive/preventive maintenance planning, scheduling and safe execution in a cost‑effective manner.
- Drive plant reliability by reviewing corrective maintenance data and effectiveness of the predictive/preventive maintenance program (using tools such as RCA, RBM, RCM, FMEA, oil analyses and other NDT).
- Execute need‑based facility maintenance and ensure all maintenance information is accurately and promptly updated.
- Track maintenance department KPIs and identify improvement opportunities.
- Ensure support and compliance with Management System (ISO 9001), MOC and procurement processes.
- Work with cross‑functional departments to achieve company goals.
- Oversee projects and maintenance works, liaise with contractors, ensuring safe and scheduled completion.
- Manage maintenance store and procurement processes to reduce costs while maintaining safety and quality.
- Review design, replace and install new equipment.
- Drive TPM related activity in the department.
- Prioritize and execute improvement ideas in technical, energy‑saving projects, spare‑part strategy and vendor selection.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 8+ years industry experience.
- Experience with rotating equipment and hydraulics.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong electrical standards background.
- Strong computer/IT skills (Microsoft Office, SAP, IT‑Network, Telecommunication).
- Strong leadership and analytical skills.
- Preventive focus and understanding of reliability.
- Experience coordinating with outside contractors for equipment repair.
- Knowledge of apprenticeship/mentorship.
- Project management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Health & Safety, Manual Handling, First Aid or related qualifications.
- Experience in chemical, polymer or elastomer manufacturing.
- Experience with MEWP and/or FLT.
