In this role, you’ll play a central, visible part in shaping quality at site level, acting as both a hands-on Product Quality Engineer and a key contributor to the site’s Quality Management System (QMS). You’ll work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure day to day operations are fully aligned with the QMS and customer quality requirements—embedding quality into how the site operates, not just how it documents compliance.
You’ll lead thorough investigations into customer complaints and internal quality issues, identifying true root causes and driving corrective and preventive actions that make a lasting difference. You’ll also introduce and maintain proactive quality improvement measures, helping the site move from reactive problem solving to long term quality resilience. In addition, you’ll act as the site focal point for supplier quality, owning supplier related quality issues and working directly with suppliers and internal teams to strengthen standards, resolve defects, and support continuous improvement across the supply base.
This is a role for someone who wants real ownership, strong technical involvement, and the opportunity to influence both quality performance and culture at a growing, technically complex site.
Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure the manufacturing activities that fall under the Management system meets and are effective in the support of the Quality System.
- Support and Maintain the Kosher, Halal, European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients (EFfCI) and other current and future quality assurance systems for raw materials and finished products.
- Support the QMS/Pharma Leader in the review of product batch manufacturing records, deviations, and Out-of-spec (OOS) reports as part of the batch release process.
- Ensure internal and external product quality complaints are resolved with root causes and corrective actions identified. Work with operations, technology, and analytical groups on problem identification and resolution.
- Serve as Tier 2 owner for customer inquiries received through Commercial Services.
- Ensure the distribution of materials impacted by quality concerns is appropriately restricted.
- Provide definition and guidance for the reduction or elimination of product quality problems or to improve product quality.
- Reviews quality trends and tracks the root cause of problems. Initiatives/leads projects to proactively eliminate repeat occurrences.
- Communicates root cause of problems to other production locations through local and/or global quality organisation.
- Identifies the need to improve the accuracy of quality control methods and liaise with quality control for implementation.
- Leads internal audits annually. Audits suppliers and tollers per the annual supplier audit plan. Participate in response to external audits.
- Coordinate a Food Safety Team and execute its work.
- Analysis of data using Statistical Quality Control (SQC) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) for observing and evaluating the quality of individual products and product groups. Takes the lead to initiate and facilitate Quality Forward Look (QFL) events and participates in product quality FMEA, Quality Risk Assessments Process (Q-RAP), or other quality risk assessment methodologies.
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a quality assurance role within the manufacturing industry.
- 3+ years' experience in quality role within GMP or medical device manufacturing or food manufacturing.
- Experience in internal auditing.
