The Opportunity

Moment Energy is seeking an Assembly Technician to join our production team and support the manufacturing of our battery energy storage systems. In this entry-level, hands-on role, you'll assemble components, prepare materials, and support the production of high-quality battery systems. Working alongside an experienced Lead Hand – Battery Assembly, you'll learn our manufacturing processes step by step while developing the skills to build a career in advanced manufacturing. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform basic assembly tasks such as wire stripping, mounting small hardware, preparing mechanical sub-assemblies, and labeling cables.
  • Safely and effectively use standard hand and power tools, including screwdrivers, wire cutters, manual crimpers, and torque wrenches, to build products to exact specifications.
  • Follow visual, step-by-step Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assembly checklists to ensure consistent quality and safety.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workstation in accordance with 5S standards.

The Candidate

We’re looking for individuals with the following traits, skills, and experiences:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity with an interest in hands-on manufacturing work.
  • Comfortable using basic hand and power tools in a production environment.
  • Ability to accurately follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), visual work instructions, and assembly checklists.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and openness to coaching and feedback.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, organized, and collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive assembly tasks, and lift up to 23 kg.

Nice-to-Have Experience:

  • Completion of a pre-apprenticeship program, introductory trades program, or relevant shop classes.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, warehouse operations, or a similar hands-on environment.
  • Familiarity with basic mechanical assembly techniques and manufacturing best practices.
  • Experience working in a 5S or lean manufacturing environment.
