Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain data models using dbt and SQL that are efficient, scalable, and reliable.
  • Encourage self-service analytics and consistent, high-quality metrics by building and maintaining semantic metric definitions and key dashboards.
  • Implement data quality monitoring and data validation throughout the data models you build to ensure high reliability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the business to understand their data needs and deliver solutions to meet them.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project status, risks, and issues efficiently.
  • Maintain documentation, manage change and technical debt, and ensure that our stack can scale.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Data team to continuously improve our stack and drive innovation.

About You

  • Experience with SQL and (optionally) with Python.
  • Experience building scalable, high-quality data models that serve complex business use cases.
  • Knowledge of dbt and experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse etc).
  • Proficiency in building BI dashboards and self-service capabilities using tools like Tableau and Looker.
  • Experience communicating with business stakeholders, managing expectations and managing your own workload.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other data professionals, engineers, and business stakeholders.
