We are seeking a self-driven Financial Accountant to join our European Finance team. Based at our Wokingham, UK site, you will be an integral part of the European finance team in Wokingham, UK. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the financial accounting of the European legal entities, ensuring compliance with both local and US GAAP across statutory and management accounting.

This position involves close partnership with the European Accounting and FP&A team, the business operations and the US corporate team.

Responsibilities
  • Aid in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting cycles for the European legal entities ensuring full compliance to US GAAP and accounting policies and collaborating closely with the European Finance team in UK and the US Corporate in San Jose. Month requirements include subledger closing, journal posting, and accounting for areas such as inventory, leasing and provisions to extremely tight financial deadlines.
  • Prepare the annual statutory accounts and the monthly compliance requirements in accordance with IFRS, including preparation of accurate tax filings such as VAT, Corporate income tax and withholding taxes. Effective liaison with third parties, planning audits and filings to corporate deadlines.
  • Maintain a strong control environment ensuring clean balance sheets, effective design and operation of controls and timely compliance with all deadlines. This includes adherence to group accounting policies, internal controls and group compliance requirements ensuring that both external and internal audit reports are clean.
  • Be prime point of contact for the US Corporate team providing timely and effective answers to questions, helping with issue resolution and supporting the US Corporate team but also act as a key resource internally for new and more junior colleagues.
  • Be a significant part of a culture of continuous improvement driving process improvements internally and taking part in wider company projects and initiatives.
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant with minimum 3 years post qualification experience (Certified Accountant, CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accounting qualification).
  • Proven track record in dynamic, global environments with strict compliance to deadlines and controls. Specific expertise in a US listed environment preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at engaging diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in finance systems and excel. Experience with Oracle financials preferred but not essential.
  • Team player with a flexible mindset being able to prioritise multiple issues and work to competing deadlines.
