Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site role for a Massage Therapist based at our location in Derby. The Massage Therapist will be responsible for providing high-quality therapeutic and sports massages, assessing client needs, and tailoring treatments to ensure optimal musculoskeletal health. The role also involves maintaining accurate client records, providing aftercare and exercise advice, and collaborating with our team of physiotherapists to ensure a holistic approach to client well-being.

Working days will include: Monday 8am - 12.30pm, Tuesday 2.30pm - 8.30pm, Thursday 8am - 2pm, with potential to increase to 4 days once client base built up.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience working in private practice, spa, beauty salon, sports setting or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in therapeutic and sports massage techniques.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and musculoskeletal health.
  • Exceptional client communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create personalised treatment plans and provide aftercare advice.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a healthcare team is preferred.
  • Relevant certification or qualification in massage therapy is essential.
  • Public liability insurance and medical indemnity to £5million.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
  • Friendly, professional and hardworking.
  • Physically fit and able to carry out 6 hours of massage per shift.
  • Proactive approach to support own learning and clinic development, such as attending external events.
  • Experience of building own client list.
  • Comfortable with making an individualised recommendation for frequency of sessions and type of treatment required.
  • Referring to other services in house.
  • Additional qualifications such as hot stone massage, Indian head massage, aromatherapy massage etc.
  • Additional qualifications such as Pilates Instructor or Yoga teacher.

Salary dependent on experience and qualifications: £27,000 - £32,000 full time equivalent.
