Moga Family Farms Inc. is seeking a farm labourer for harvesting.

Location: Langley, BC V2Z 2Z6

Salary: $19.00 hourly / 30 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Starts as soon as possible

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply fertilizers
  • Apply the technique of hoeing between the row
  • Clean the crops
  • Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas
  • Clear fields of wood and stones
  • Cut agricultural crops
  • Cut agricultural seed according to farm standards
  • Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots
  • Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, colour and volume to fetch high price in market
  • Guide growing shoots into optimal development positions
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Monitor the calving process
  • Monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns
  • Pack fruits and vegetables
  • Pick row and orchard crops
  • Seed cutting
  • Shear and shape trees and plants with knife
  • Tie and secure plants
  • Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality
  • Weeding
  • Write daily basic progress reports
  • Clean work area
  • Fertilize and spray crops
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens
  • Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry
  • Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market
