Key Responsibilities:
- Structural analysis, design, and detailing (concrete, steel, timber, composites)
- Design of marine/waterfront structures: marinas, quay walls, jetties, trestles, platforms, mooring systems, breakwaters, floodwalls
- Inspection and rehabilitation of waterfront assets
- Management of marine structural projects and multidisciplinary teams
- Construction support and resolving technical queries
- Awareness of budgets, procurement, schedules, and technical documentation
- Health & safety compliance
- Occasional site visits to ports and coastal locations
Qualifications:
- BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (Masters preferred)
- Chartered or working toward CEng (ICE or IStructE)
- 5-15 years experience in marine structural engineering
- Familiarity with UK codes (Eurocodes, BS) and international standards (PIANC, BS 6349)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with Network Rail, port authorities, or defence projects is a plus
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based (Farnham, London, Exeter)
- Occasional travel and site visits with uneven terrain and near-water environments
