To manage the brand strategy, business performance and marketing activities for a selection of our still wine brands in the UK market, we are looking for a Senior Brand & Business Development Manager (SBBDM) – Maternity Cover to join the Moët Hennessy UK (MHUK) wine team. The SBBDM Wines – Maternity Cover manages the delivery of ambitious business results through brand strategy and marketing activities, working closely with the Maison teams and Moët Hennessy Wine Estates.
This person manages the development and execution of the annual brand plans and activations across all channels in the UK for Cloudy Bay, Terrazas de los Andes, Joseph Phelps and Bodega Numanthia, with a focus on volume and value growth driving activities. The SBBDM Wines – Maternity Cover works closely with the various MHUK sales teams on commercial activity such as new vintage launches, customer pitches and target account hit lists. Besides the work on brand‑specific activity, the SBBDM Wines – Maternity Cover leads the development of the fine wine strategy for the UK market.
For the work on Cloudy Bay, Terrazas de los Andes, Joseph Phelps and Bodega Numanthia, the SBBDM has support from an intern. Furthermore, the SBBDM Wines – Maternity Cover line manages the Brand Manager for Minuty & Chateau Galoupet and oversees business performance for these brands. The SBBDM Wines – Maternity Cover ensures that the overarching brand strategy, as well as marketing and commercial activities are in line with the strategic growth objectives for these rosé brands. The SBBDM Wines – Maternity Cover supports on various category‑wide marketing and commercial programmes for the Provence rosé wine portfolio.
Strategic Business PlanningOwn the annual P&L for the brands. Understand and respond to the drivers of brand performance, working in partnership with the finance and commercial teams to deliver a strong commercial plan. Actively drive mitigation activities if needed according to R&O analysis. Develop three‑year brand strategy, including brand vision for the market, key growth drivers and development plan by SKU and by channel. Lead the further development of the fine wine category strategy, covering commercial strategy, portfolio prioritisation, channel‑specific business development plan for securing new distribution, and tools to boost rate of sale. Develop competition framework by analysing category performance, key competitors, opportunities and challenges. Ensure that key learnings and opportunities are part of the strategic brand planning and commercial planning process. Be the key point of contact for Maison teams, ensuring mutual visibility and alignment on business strategy through regular meetings and business reviews. Build target account lists and monitor overall brand distribution. Work with MHUK On‑Trade and Off‑Trade sales teams on brand‑specific commercial pitches and promotional programmes.
Brand ManagementDevelop, create, plan, and execute brand plans that maximise brand equity, revenue and profit. Manage or oversee the development and execution of brand activations in all trade channels. Create KPIs to track and measure marketing programme effectiveness, ensure positive ROI. Manage the A&P deployment strategy, ensuring A&P spend is prioritised against business & brand objectives and managed to budget. Manage alignment process with central and Maison. Be an “ambassador” for the wine brands in the UK trade, by spending time regularly in both the on‑trade and off‑trade account universe and connecting with relevant trade stakeholders (buyers, sommeliers, business owners etc).
Performance ManagementTrack brand performance, including monthly sales reporting and diagnostic assessment of the entire portfolio. Work hand in hand with Commercial Planning and Demand & Supply Planning to regularly monitor forecasting, vintage changes and stock allocations, proposing adjustments to ensure commercial goals are delivered.
People ManagementManage and develop the Brand Manager Minuty & Chateau Galoupet, providing adequate mentorship in day‑to‑day work as well as guidance in longer‑term career development. Manage and develop the Wines Intern.
Professional experience & know how- Strong brand management experience (minimum 7 years of experience)
- Experience in the UK wine trade (understanding of sales channels and key players)
- Understanding of brand development in a commercial context
- Strong analytical skills to support data‑driven decision making
- Previous experience in line management
- Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated success influencing cross‑functional key stakeholders, including senior leaders
- Strong organisational skills & attention to detail
- Proactive and solution driven, a mindset which sees and seizes opportunities for the brand
- Able to adapt to the ever‑changing environment with strong sense of perseverance & resilience
- Fluent English
- Understanding of French is a plus
- WSET Wines level 3+ is a plus
