Overview of the Business Services Team: The EMEA Business Services team at Moelis & Company provides strategic advisory services on M&A, sponsor-led sell-sides and buy-sides, equity capital markets, recapitalisations, and other strategic and capital structure matters. The team advises public and private companies, founders and entrepreneurs, and financial sponsors across professional services, environmental and sustainability services, design and engineering, testing, inspection and certification (TIC), distribution, commercial services, and technology-enabled and industrial services, partnering with the Firm's product, financial sponsors and international coverage teams to deliver differentiated, high-impact advice. The London-based team is known for its analytical rigor, commercial judgment, and collaborative approach. We work on high-profile, often highly complex transactions, frequently involving multiple jurisdictions and stakeholders. Associates are given meaningful responsibility early on, with direct exposure to senior bankers and clients.

Position Description: We are seeking an Associate to join our EMEA Business Services investment banking team in London. The Associate will play a central role in the execution of M&A, sponsor-led sale processes, equity capital markets and other strategic advisory mandates, supporting all aspects of deal origination, structuring, and execution. The role requires strong financial and analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plays a key role in the execution of M&A, sponsor sell-sides and buy-sides, equity capital markets and recapitalisation transactions, taking responsibility for financial analysis, valuation workstreams, preparation of client presentations, and coordination of deal processes and documentation.
- Works on a broad range of strategic advisory mandates for corporates, founder- and family-owned businesses and financial sponsors across the UK, Europe and cross-border, including public and private M&A, sponsor sell-sides, carve-outs, minority and growth capital raises and financing.
- Builds and applies valuation models based on detailed financial research and analysis, including comparable company analysis, discounted cash flow analysis and precedent transaction analysis.
- Prepares high-quality analytical and presentation materials to support the internal valuation committee process.
- Reviews and oversees Analysts’ work product, ensuring accuracy, consistency and quality across financial models and client materials.
- Gains direct exposure to senior bankers and clients, with significant responsibility from day one.
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 2 years of investment banking experience in Business Services, Industrials or a closely related advisory role.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven team player able to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and interact with senior bankers and clients.
- Strong multi-tasking and project management skills.
