Overview of the Infrastructure Team

Moelis & Company is building a dedicated Infrastructure investment banking team in London, advising corporates, infrastructure funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Pension Funds and other long term infrastructure investors across Europe and globally.

The team will work as part of the Firm's global platform, with a core focus on infrastructure M&A, capital raises and financing transactions.

The mandate spans infrastructure fund and corporate advisory, take-privates, minority and growth investments, and capital markets activity, complemented by advice on continuation vehicles and project-level financing.

Sector coverage is focused on core infrastructure across transport, social, power and regulated utilities, in addition to adjacent core-plus infrastructure assets, for example infrastructure leasing businesses.

At Moelis, we foster a client-centric, entrepreneurial environment that empowers Associates and Vice Presidents to assume early responsibility, engage directly with senior bankers and clients, and contribute meaningfully to a new business build from its earliest stages.

Senior Team

The Associate / Vice President will work directly with the Team Head and senior bankers who are leading the build of the Infrastructure franchise and who set the team's coverage priorities and client relationships.

Position Description

We are seeking an Associate and/or Vice President to join our new Infrastructure investment banking team.

This role is suited to a high-performing banker with prior M&A or infrastructure experience, strong analytical and execution capabilities, and a genuine interest in the infrastructure sector.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the execution of advisory and financing transactions, corporate coverage, and business development across the team's infrastructure franchise, working closely with the team's leadership as it takes shape.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed quantitative and qualitative financial analysis, including valuation work (DCF, DDM, public comparable companies, and precedent transactions) and project finance / infrastructure-specific analyses.
  • Develop and maintain complex three-statement operating models, DDM models, and project finance models to support transaction evaluation and client decision-making.
  • Support the preparation of marketing materials, including information memoranda (CIMs), management presentations, teasers, investment-committee materials, and pitch books.
  • Conduct company, industry, and market research to support target screens, client mapping, and sector trends across the infrastructure landscape, under the direction of the team's leadership.
  • Support senior team members across all aspects of transaction execution, including due diligence coordination (VDD, virtual data room, and buyer Q&A), process management, and liaison with clients, and external advisors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporates, infrastructure funds, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and other long-term infrastructure investors.
  • Mentor and support junior team members as the team grows, assigning and reviewing workstreams to ensure quality and adherence to deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong analytical, financial modelling, and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of accounting, corporate finance, and valuation methodologies, including project finance and infrastructure operating metrics.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in investment banking (M&A or infrastructure-related corporate finance); experience at an infrastructure fund, advisory house, or infrastructure-focused principal team is particularly relevant.
  • Direct sector experience across core infrastructure is preferred — transport, social, power and regulated utilities, in addition to adjacent core-plus infrastructure assets, for example infrastructure leasing businesses.
  • Demonstrable execution experience on relevant M&A or financing transactions.
  • Demonstrated client-focused mindset with the ability to deliver high-quality, tailored solutions.
  • Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, and collaborative environment as part of a new team build.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in an additional European language is advantageous.
