ROLE OVERVIEW

As Account Director - Fashion & Beauty Communications, you will serve as a senior leader within the agency, overseeing the strategic direction and execution of integrated communications across a portfolio of premium and luxury fashion, beauty and wellness clients. Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, you will provide strategic counsel, drive best-in-class service delivery, and identify opportunities for growth through innovative storytelling, brand positioning, partnerships and cultural relevance.

You will lead cross-functional teams across earned media, influencer marketing, partnerships, events and brand communications, ensuring all activity supports wider business objectives and delivers measurable impact. You will be responsible for nurturing client relationships, developing talent within the team, and contributing to the agency's commercial growth through both organic account development and new business opportunities. This role requires a strong understanding of both the fashion and beauty landscapes, excellent leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering integrated communications for premium and luxury brands.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership & Client Services
    • Act as a senior point of contact for clients, delivering high-level counsel and strategic direction across all accounts.
    • Lead the development and execution of integrated communication strategies that support clients’ commercial and brand goals.
    • Drive measurable media results, ensuring consistent delivery of KPIs.
    • Guide the narrative development process, identifying culturally relevant brand stories, expert-led commentary opportunities, product narratives, trend insights and campaign concepts across fashion, beauty and wellness.
    • Lead client meetings, campaign planning sessions, seasonal reviews, and executive reporting.
    • Oversee the production of comprehensive, insight-driven reports that demonstrate ROI and value.
    • Lead integrated communications strategies spanning earned media, influencer marketing, partnerships, events, thought leadership and executive profiling.
    • Lead and mentor Account Managers and Executives, providing ongoing training, performance feedback, and professional development.
    • Management of team’s appraisals and check-ins with the support of Associate Directors, Managing Director and/or Strategic Director.
    • Leads team weekly meetings, oversee delegation and prioritisation across accounts, ensuring best-in-class output from the team.
    • Support talent development by identifying leadership opportunities for team members and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Operational Management
    • With the support of Communications Associate Director, Fashion and Beauty Senior Account Director, oversee the onboarding of all new fashion and beauty clients.
    • Manage and execute launch events, seasonal press previews, media experiences and client activations across fashion and beauty accounts.
  • Media, Talent & Industry Relations
    • Leverage an extensive network of fashion editors, beauty editors, journalists, broadcasters, influencers, creators, industry experts and cultural tastemakers to drive awareness and engagement.
    • Maintain and grow meaningful relationships with key media and cultural gatekeepers.
    • Collaborate with Talent & Partnerships team to plan and implement talent and KOL strategy, identifying and securing partnerships that elevate brand storytelling and relevance.
    • Develop and execute expert-led communications opportunities including founder profiling, practitioner positioning, treatment and service storytelling, and thought leadership programmes where relevant.
  • Sample, Asset & Showroom Management
    • Oversee product and asset management across fashion and beauty accounts, ensuring efficient distribution to media, influencers, partners and stakeholders.
    • Ensure showroom and product presentation aligns with brand standards and supports media engagement.
    • Oversee product placement opportunities, editorial requests, shoot support and gifting programmes, ensuring seamless execution and reporting.
    • Support beauty product launches, sampling initiatives and media seeding programmes alongside traditional fashion sample management.
  • New Business & Agency Growth
    • Partner with the wider senior team to support new business development through ideation, proposal writing, and pitch leadership.
    • Identify and cultivate new opportunities for organic growth within existing accounts, proactively proposing strategic initiatives to deepen client partnerships and expand scopes of work.
    • Stay ahead of industry trends, proactively identifying opportunities for agency innovation and client growth.
    • Contribute to agency thought leadership by participating in industry events, panels, and media commentary where appropriate.
    • Identify opportunities to cross-sell agency services across fashion, beauty, wellness and lifestyle sectors.
    • Contribute strategic insight and category expertise to new business pitches across multiple agency specialisms.
