Job Description

What you’ll contribute to:

An exciting opportunity has come available for a Technical Designer to join our London Bankside Team. This is a permanent position that would suit a skilled Technical Designer or Architectural Technician. In this role you\’ll be responsible for examining the initial design setup from the design team, collaborating with the wider project team to generate drafted layouts, details, and elevations to construct the built environment. You will act as a client-facing contact, working alongside the designer to realize the client\’s vision while maintaining the scope of the cost and contract.

How you will make an impact:

The successful candidate will have an Architectural Degree or Architectural Design Technician Degree. You’ll have a strong knowledge of building regulations and a keen eye for detail. The Design & Build team at Modus operates at a high cadence. You will be a passionate, detail-oriented, and highly organised team member. The most important behavioural traits for this role are: being deadline-driven and committed to quality, with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with designers and the wider internal project team, including sub-contractors, consultants, and clients.
  • Analysing the design vision and determining the required drawings to produce, as well as appropriate project deadlines.
  • Liaising with Building Control Approved Inspectors, and Fire & Structural Engineers.
  • Utilising Procore to manage documentation, submittals, and RFIs within the project\’s workflow.
  • Visiting construction sites and reporting back to management.
