Design & Build background to lead the successful delivery of workplace fit-out and refurbishment projects across London and the South East.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative and ambitious business where you'll have responsibility for managing projects from initial client engagement through to completion, ensuring quality, programme, commercial and client satisfaction objectives are achieved.

The Opportunity

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of workplace design and build projects, acting as the key point of contact for clients whilst coordinating internal teams, consultants and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.

You'll work closely with Design, Technical Design, Commercial and Construction teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and to the highest standards of quality.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both the design and construction phases of workplace projects and be comfortable managing multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced Design & Build environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful delivery of workplace fit-out, refurbishment and relocation projects from inception through to handover.
  • Act as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle, building trusted relationships and ensuring exceptional customer experience.
  • Manage project programmes, budgets, risks and reporting to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Coordinate Design, Technical Design, Commercial and Construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Drive project performance against programme, quality, commercial and health & safety objectives.
  • Chair project meetings and provide regular progress updates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage consultant and subcontractor performance throughout project delivery.
  • Review design information, technical documentation and construction methodologies to ensure buildability and compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks whilst proactively resolving delivery challenges.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations, company standards and client expectations.
  • Support pre-construction and tender activities where required.

About You

You'll be a commercially aware and client-focused Project Manager who enjoys leading teams and delivering high-quality workplace environments.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within a Design & Build fit-out or commercial interiors business.
  • Experience delivering CAT A, CAT B and workplace refurbishment projects.
  • Strong understanding of both design and construction processes.
  • Excellent programme management and project planning skills.
  • Experience managing project budgets, change control and commercial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and construction best practice.
  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple stakeholders, consultants and subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and client management skills.
  • A track record of delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.

Desirable

  • Professional qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, Building Surveying or a related discipline.
  • SMSTS, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualifications.
  • Experience within workplace design and build environments.
  • Knowledge of modern workplace trends, sustainability and ESG principles.
  • Member of RICS, CIOB, APM or equivalent professional body.
