We are working with a well-established infrastructure and utilities contractor based in Kent who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a growing portfolio of long-term utility, civil engineering, and groundworks projects. This is a key commercial role offering autonomy, progression, and involvement in major frameworks across utilities and enabling works.
The Role
- Take full commercial responsibility for multiple projects, from early cost planning through to final account.
- Commercial management of infrastructure, utilities, and groundworks projects.
- Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating subcontractor and supplier packages.
- Cost forecasting, reporting, and risk management.
- Managing valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Commercial input on earthworks, drainage, foundations, and enabling works.
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff.
- Working closely with operational and delivery teams to maximise value.
- Ensuring contractual compliance (NEC experience highly beneficial).
About You
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks, infrastructure, utilities, or civil engineering.
- Experience with pre contract, post contract, tendering, estimating.
- Comfortable operating at Senior QS level or ready to step up.
- Strong knowledge of cost control, procurement, and contract administration.
- Hands-on experience with groundworks packages (earthworks, drainage, services, foundations).
- Experience with NEC contracts preferred.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
