Job Description
Were looking for an experienced NDT Technician to join one of our prestigious clients based in Derby!
Youll contribute to a dynamic team, ensuring the integrity and quality of materials and structures through advanced Non-Destructive Testing techniques. Youll play a key part in maintaining safety and compliance by inspecting welds, structures, and materials.
Due to the nature of the industry, all employees are subject to random drug and alcohol testing throughout employment.
This is a Full-Time, Permanent position!
What youll be doing
- Predominantly site based however, some travelling to client locations to perform inspections
- Setting up, calibrating, and maintaining NDT equipment
- Conduct Non-Destructive Tests (NDT) on welds, structures, and materials using techniques such as Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Visual Testing (VT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) in line with relevant standards and company procedures
- Interpreting and evaluating test results against specified acceptance standards
- Producing clear, accurate, and concise test reports
- Demonstrating professionalism and integrity in all aspects of the role
- Demonstrating a strong attention to detail
- Working both independently and as part of a team
Hours
Monday-Thursday: 7am-3:30pm
Friday: 7am-12pm
Pay
£19 per hour / £36,556 per annum
Skills/Experience Required
Essential
- A valid UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to other sites when needed
- Previous Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) experience
- PCN Level 2 qualifications in Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Visual Testing (VT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Strong understanding of NDT techniques, particularly VT, MPI, and UT
- Ability to produce quality documentation (e.g., technique sheets, SOPs)
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team player
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Desirable
- Experience with Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI) (training can be provided)
