We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established, family-run business near Stafford! You will join a small, supportive engineering team working on a modern, farm-based production site, helping to keep essential machinery and systems running smoothly.

We are looking for someone mechanically biased, with welding experience in a production, manufacturing, or industrial environment. This is a great fit for an engineer who enjoys hands-on work in a practical, non-corporate setting, with real variety, job stability, and room to progress. This is a Full-Time, Permanent position!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Planned and reactive maintenance
  • Work as part of a team doing Mechanical repairs
  • Maintenance of Filling Machines, Wrapping Machines, Inverters, Labelling Machines, Robotics, Conveyors, Motors, PLCs, Gearboxes, Valves, Pumps etc.
  • Read engineering drawings
  • Some MIG welding
  • Aim to maximise performance and reduce production downtime
  • Monitor any malfunctioning equipment and report to site management
  • Machinery installations
  • Facilities maintenance
  • Ensure the site is operating safely at all times

Hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern working 8am-8pm

Pay: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum (Depending on Experience). Overtime available with an OTE of up to £45,000.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • At least 12 months mechanical engineering experience
  • Experience from a production/manufacturing/industrial environment preferred
  • Welding experience is essential
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings and instructions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • An understanding of Health & Safety
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
