We are working with a well-established infrastructure and utilities contractor based in Kent who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a growing portfolio of long-term utility, civil engineering, and groundworks projects.
This is a key commercial role offering autonomy, progression, and involvement in major frameworks across utilities and enabling works.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility for multiple projects, from early cost planning through to final account. Key responsibilities include:
- Commercial management of infrastructure, utilities, and groundworks projects
- Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating subcontractor and supplier packages
- Cost forecasting, reporting, and risk management
- Managing valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Commercial input on earthworks, drainage, foundations, and enabling works
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
- Working closely with operational and delivery teams to maximise value
- Ensuring contractual compliance (NEC experience highly beneficial)
About You
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks, infrastructure, utilities, or civil engineering
- Experience with pre contract, post contract, tendering, estimating
- Comfortable operating at Senior QS level or ready to step up
- Strong knowledge of cost control, procurement, and contract administration
- Hands-on experience with groundworks packages (earthworks, drainage, services, foundations)
- Experience with NEC contracts preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
